This is my MS design-build challenge entry for the Quickie Q2.

I built a ~1:10 scale glider during Covid that never got the A-pack it deserved. And really I wanted a bigger model, so that is what this is design thread is dedicated for. A
~1:5 scale version running on a C-Pack.

It is important for me to capture the wing airfoils reproductions, and the sleekness of this design.
as a stretch goal, I want it to have it set to fly Fpv from the cockpit.

I am also 3D printing one. For comparison

With a month left, it’s gonna be a challenge.

From the work done in 2021 (last post) there, I wanted to scale it from an A-pack to a C-pack. Hence the work at the top posts.

So I scaled and cut and glued. And… I have some work to do.

Nice, can’t help but notice that the wings are foam. (Probably going to be fiberglassed?).

Is that a VW Beetle engine? Porsche? (Don’t know of many engines that are a boxer 4)
You got it on both accounts. The Construction methods are of that popularized by Rutan in the decade prior for easy homebuilt. Large sections of the Home build manuals of the Quickie, Vari-Eze, Long EZ and the others in that family are nearly identical. Hot wire the Foam, Joint the pieces together, prep, and then Glass. Then fill and sand for- EVER. Finish coat and off to the skies *not really*

The Engine is a Revmaster 2100D which "based" on a VW beetle air cooled engine. Which is modified from the 40HP stock to now produce 68HP.

Ah, thought that engine looked familiar. 👍

Hi @Captain Video!

I was unable to unbury my self imposed chaos long enough to finish this under the deadline, but in will finish this when i do and fly it as much as possible. (Posting videos of course)

I did get to the field i tiny bit though.
