Quite the build table Matt! Everything is looking great and especially the BF109E ha!By close of Saturday I nearly pulled it off. View attachment 256987
FTFC 2026 is closed. During this month I built a DTFB Puri, a micro surfer, an EZ Pint Jet and nearly enough of the 13th Squadron BF109e to fly it. Lets not forget making huge progress on the 16’ flying Giant Puri. (I need to name it)
@Niez13
I have updated post #4 with the EZ Pint Jet at the bottom.
I refuse to like that post.Thanks for the kind words Jack.
Well i hear i a can fix nearly all the foam with hot glue?
I have to see if i got the ailerons backwards. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Rushing some, got me again
Ouch!Thanks for the kind words Jack.

Oooooooh I HATE reversed ailerons. Last balsa I maidened had that, almost landed it till a gust of wind puffed and I reacted the normal way. DOH!Thanks for the kind words Jack.

Owee. Mine did the exact same thing today. Just at a higher velocity.Well i hear i a can fix nearly all the foam with hot glue?

It's amazing what you can fix. I had "given up" and retired my micro F-22, only to pack it as a backup for FF25. It became my primary aircraft!Thanks for the kind words Jack.

Oh man Matt, I'm not sure what to say hear, that one is tough. Reversed ailerons or not might make knowing what happened better for both of us but I am going to assume you have everything setup correctly. That is on me as the designer in this case as to why it was so unstable in that setting. I understand that what happened, happened, but that does give me some stuff to consider going further with future designs. I'm sorry to see it crash like that but I really do appreciate you sharing it here and choosing to build the kit.Thanks for the kind words Jack.

I confirmed, it was reverse ailerons, which is why the slight rotation on takeoff turn into a spiral of death. That is 100% me.Oh man Matt, I'm not sure what to say hear, that one is tough. I exploded the balsa fuselage on mine. I had to get an ARF kit to replace my PNP and transfer all the parts. One of those Finishuary projects for me is to get the parts moved over.Owee. Mine did the exact same thing today. Just at a higher velocity.
Well I suppose that is good to at least know for both of us but thank you for letting me know. Once again it is a good learning curve for me to even just make sure to mention that in future build videos just prevent any slight confusion so it still is a good take away for me regarding the crash.I confirmed, it was reverse ailerons, which is why the slight rotation on takeoff turn into a spiral of death. fortunately, I still have the frames that the pieces came from so I can draw out another set of front end items, and get to work on replacing what needs to be replaced.
This piece will never quite be pristine again, though, although with my construction methods, it never really was to begin with.
It took the first nose it well. The second higher speed one… killed it. My choice.
I could tell it was going to fly as well as the spitfires i love so much.
Look in the take away section for my build notes.
Haha - that’s what March is!Finishuary
