Very cool. And you're right... it will hide a lot of that motor. Just have to detail the parts that will be seen

I'm geographically challenged :) Already getting butterflies about this build. Let's hope I can pull it off!

I'm betting Oshkosh... best place to see unique aircraft at a fly in

I'm sure you can pull off the build. Just keep momentum up and stay focused. That will be the hard part with all the action going on :)

The pile in the workshop is growing. I reviewed the plans again last night and the butterflies really kicked in. Hope you guys can cheer me on well, I'm going to need it.

Last two days here have been busy for sure! Today we managed to get all the tents up and the last build tent was completed at 9:30 pm! I rounded up volunteers to get tables and chairs set. We are still working on getting electrical issues sorted but there were at least lights for folks to come wit and talk. I've set up my table as much as I could and got that done at 10:40. The build starts tomorrow!

I expect you to be almost done when I arrive this evening. No bathroom breaks allowed :D

I saw you building it earlier today and saw from a distance the picture of the plane. Very cool!!! Flying boats are cool! I'll stop by Friday and say hi and check it all out. Good luck with the build and hope the rain today didn't cause too much of a trouble for you.

Nope, no troubles today all. Good good progress. Not as far as I had hoped but not terribly behind either. All major components are fabricated and the fuse needs to be divided and hollowed out. I did take 30 minutes to call the family but really, I did not eat a single solid meal today. The humidity really sped up the gorilla glue on a positive note there. Need rest. Tomorrow is coming quickly.

Having seen the build in person I can honestly say I'm VERY impressed. Every piece I've seen I would be happy with on any build, not to mention on something being built this quickly. The best thing in my opinion, however, is something I've seen several times today. Even though he's pushing the envelope and working his butt off, willsonman is still taking the time to share this project with everyone who stops by.

Keep it up brother!

I couldn't stop by today. I was quite busy myself. I'll make time tomorrow. I really want to see how this build is going and what all you are doing with it. Good luck! I hope there will be pictures when you are done.

Thanks man. Long day. Had trouble with stamina but got the wings basically done. Not glassed but got the spare, magnets, three servo bays, two servos, bell cranks, push rods, motor mount and motor all done on the wing along with the trailing edges and ailerons. I have had MANY people ask lots of questions but that is really what the build is for. I'll make a mad push to get as much assembly done as possible tomorrow. Hopefully on legs by tomorrow night.

I have a lot to update on. The plane made great progress today. Wing joined to fuselage and main struts from the fuse to the wing were installed. Much thanks to Pat and Mike for their help cutting small parts while I examined the plans and executed great results. The tail control surfaces were hinged as well as the ailerons. Aileron push rods installed. Servo wire routed the the wings to the nacelle location. Primary receiver bound and basic programming set. Really wish I could post pics but the file size for the forum limits me as I've been posting from my phone. All I can say is that I'm very happy with the project even though it will not be "finished" when I leave.

Well, everyone seemed to clear out by the time I got done with my plane. Even the FT guys missed the finish because they had already started tearing everything down. I made the drive home already and am currently uploading a video... It's fairly self-explanatory

Just fantastic! Glad you got the maiden in and I can't wait to see it finished!

Really wish I could have stuck around on Sunday. Would have loved to have seen it fly in person.

Thanks guys. As I do laundry, lots of it, I'll be putting together a compilation of the build videos. Hope to have it up by the end of the day.
