A couple of weeks ago I posted a video asking for help and info re: 4 old rc planes I bought for just £100 at a garage sale. Got the answers I needed. Art Tec AT6 Texan, Dynam Waco YMF 5c biplane, Alfa models ME109 and a Dynam Sonic 185. All are fixed up now, thanks for info I received and they're ready to test fly. Pretty breezy day yesterday so chose to take the 1.85m Sonic powered glider. Test did not go well! And another first in 15 years of RC plane flying. 🤨

30 mins and some hot glue and it'll fly again soon. I'd reglued the port side panel over the carbon as it fell out when I first put it together, but starboard side seemed ok! At that stage I didn't know how bad the glue that was used when it put together 10 - 15 years ago was!
It's a 10 or 15 year old plane, probably built from the Dynam kit by previous owner when he bought it so absolutely no idea what glue he used in those days. It was brown, dried out and useless now! Must have been successfully flown in it's day. There was a servo up front which had been used for tow release so had been aero towed at some point. And had some nose crash damage. You can see in my video the dried out brown glue? Anyway both panels now hot glued. Windy test flight today and wings survived a cartwheel! But it was generally a much better test flight. .The Alfa Models ME 109 wings had completely delaminated , same brown glue, so I have reglued those. Found the one bad panel on the Sonic, the other looked OK but failed under load.
