Really nice work all around. The laser cut parts look really clean and it looks like it is all coming together pretty quickly so far. These big models take time but I'll admit I'm impressed with how fast this is building. Are you planning to glass and paint, or cover with low temp film, or something else?

What is your estimated All Up Weight (AUW)?
I am going for under 55 lbs. I know that sounds insane, this is why I'm not planning on the final finish work yet. (paint and covering etc.)
I'm in the process of making a set of retracts, how ever I will use fix gear at first. Time will be the factor at this point, everything is being made from scratch.
Starting with fixed gear is definitely your best bet to keep the weight under 55lbs.
I'm very dubious about those giant metal blocks for your scaled-up retracts though; I would caution you greatly against simply "scaling up" an RC-style retract, and instead look at more realistic full-scale style mechanism. Those metal billets are gonna hurt your weight HARD.
Everything else is looking great! Awesome progress!
My guess is that they don’t sell that thin up North. I can only get half inch at thinnest…. I’ve looked in many a depot stores with no luckthey sell quarter inch foam.
