Hello question building a giant scale. Ryan's revenge fuse is 71 inches long out of 1/2" pink foam. The wings 12inch cord 82" long three sections. 22 and two 30' for the stab and elevator would you go the pink foam or do foam board . Maybe two layers. So what do you think

I have designed many foam planes from scratch including a couple of the size you indicate.
To have any idea of the strength required you have to have an idea of its likely weight taking into account the likely motors, batteries etc.
This rough guess weight estimate then may cause a change in the power required. Thus the weight estimate changes and you go round again.
As is common with all plane designers they use their past construction experience to try to identify the sort of structure that could be required. On small planes you can get away with less than ideal things but the larger they the more significant the detail becomes.
Only when you are reasonably confident that your "guesses" are as good as can be expected does building actually start..
Remember there is no magic formula with foam plane building. It comes down to experience or copying the detail of what others have done.

I’d go for the pink stuff if I were you.

Both the blue store and the orange do not carry pink foam in less than 2" thicknesses, mostly with a foil backing, or at least here in Reno. I can online order anything, wait a week then go pick it up damaged. Won't give me damaged price reduced sheets. Used to be able to buy pink flooring foam, but that went away. Makes me wonder what is odd about Reno construction supply.

...or at least here in Reno...
I can get plenty of pink or blue foam where I live. All of the stores have a great selection of thickness up to 2"
Sometimes they have a white, which I prefer, its a bit lighter than xps. I believe the white is used under stucco.

I have taken thicker foam and used a hot wire to make it thinner. It was slow cutting but got the job done.

The fuse is 67 inch long by 6.5 tall 5 5 wide . The wings was build three sections and put together out of dtf 1x2 poplar spar through wing less one inch on each side . The foam former is 2 in from leading edge and is 2x2 green foam block . Wing weight is 2lbs the fuse with foam and 3/8 dowl rods with the rudder and elevators it's about 1.5lbs . All up maybe 6lbs . Will post pictures soon

And tape hinges dont work with 1inch foam . The thin plastic cutting board from the dollar tree cut into 1x2 strips as the hinge looks to work

This is the plans . We have a giant scale fly this month. Thought it would be a cool challenge to build something little bigger .
