Testors spray paint is fine, but pricey. I have heard (no personal experience) that Krylon Fuzion is foam safe.

There is a water-based paint available from Home Depot, but there are only 3 colors, Black, White, and Tan(ish). It works OK, but not the best.

Testors is TOO Expensive! I have been experimenting with first painting my Blue-Core FFF planes with MinWax Polycrylic. Then "if you have been careful to cover ALL exposed foam" using any paint you like. So far no issues but still testing. Polycrylic is also good for "glassing" sections of foam planes by bedding a fabric in it. There is a new Krylon H2O Spray Latex but it comes in limited colors and I have yet to find it in a store.

any water based paint can be brushed on in thin layers, I just thin mine with water and put on a couple coats, it can get heavy real fast if you put it on too thick
