Can somebody recommend an alternate ESC to the Plush 30 and the Red Brick?? They're both on backorder. HK shows the Reds in stock at the UK site, but the reviews are terrible.

A friend and I are going to start making this quad, but before we do, can someone explain the esc wiring? I'm a little confused on how everything fits together..

ESC should be very straight forward, just bind all the Red wires together, and the same with all the black wires, and solder on a connector.

And the signal wires are connected to the kk board, but you need to check the firmware you are using for the order of the motors.

Carbon-
Ok this is what I got from the H-quad scrach build video. two positives are soldered together and two negatives are soldered together (front or back of quad). the other two are done the same way. Then a piece of copper wire is used to bridge the gap- the wire is soldered to both ends either the positives or the necative and one single wire is branched of the copper wire in the middle giving 'even power distribution' as bixler says. Then on the end of the positive and the negative you put the connector on. Then done!:) It is so hard to describe and I don't know how to make a diagram if you or someone else could explain that it might do more good. Hope it helps!

Just made a huge investment towards the H-quad scratch build:

4 dowel rods: 1cm x 1cm x 100cm = 1 dollar each

3 plywood scrapings: 1 dolar each

Whats the total aperes pulled from the motors? Is a 25c battery enough? What are the flight times like?

Hey.

Can't remember if i read this somewhere in this thread, but did someone say to use some foam under the controller board? to stop the vibration overloading the MEMS chips.....
Has everyone done this?
Is it not a problem, or "you" haven't had issues with the board mis-reading due to vibration?

cheers

what motor layout does h-quad uses?

H-quad uses X motor config.

If you think about it the frame shape doesn't matter, but the position of the motors do matter. The positions of the motors on an H quad are the same as an X quad.

You could fly it in the + configuration, but it would look like it was flying diagonally all the time.

I want to build an H quad but when I go to get the files off of hobbyking.com for the USBasp avr programmer. I have Windows 7 but I can't find the ("Windows 7 USBasp Driver") on there like on the video from FT "HK Quad Controller Programming video".....
Any Help would Be great!

Flite Time

I'm sure the answer is here someplace, but, I'll just ask again. What is the flight time with the existing setup and is there a way to increase it. I'm ordering from HK and before I order the battery, if adding a battery increases flight time, I'll order whatever I need. Also, (I'm new to this) if I want to mount a camera with a Gimbal, should I swap the bottom plate to the top?
Thanks
