Has anyone ever slingshoted a glider before?

I saw this post by legodragonxp: The post I'm talking about . And I was thinking if anyone has ever slingshoted a foamboard glider before because I'd like to try it with my tiny trainer in glide mode. Or maybe this could become some kind of challenge.

Here is my son's FT Simple Soarer with a bungee/slingshot launch. He built a string servo release mechanism himself. Not completely optimal (the bungee is supposed to be attached to the center bottom, not the front), but he learned a whole lot about building and flying without my help.

I think the tiny trainer would perform about the same with the 3 channel wing of course.

Yes, gliders are regularly launched into the air via slingshot type device called a high start.

I bought some 1/4" diameter surgical tube for mine. Works pretty well, but you'll want to have a good solid wing.
