Heinkel HE-100 Build Thread

Just setting up the thread for my build of the HE-100 for the Heinkel Build Challenge. Plans were an incomplete set I found that I have modified and am finishing out the missing parts as I post. Just a few more formers and I think I have everything I need to get started, skins will be worked out manually after I get these parts together. Final plans will be posted upon completion.

It's an He-100, the fastest prop plane for it's time. I'm assuming that he's keeping it scale and making it a prop plane. Also he has a power pod in the plans so that kinda confirms my assumption.

oooh... i might even build this plane, (probably as a hangar queen for now.. considering my pilot skill)

And the build has begun. Here is my center wing section complete with landing gear installed

And the rest of the wing. Seams need to be cleaned up a bit but all in all a pretty solid wing.Measures in just a little under 40 inches.

Had a good night tonight. wing mounts are installed, box fuse is built, tailfeathers are dryfitted , and all side formers are installed. Landing gear needs to sweep forward a bit more. Going to finish cutting the top formers and call it a night, can start the skins tomorrow night.

Wheel covers are on and looking good, added landing gear doors also just for a little scale detail. Time for some electronics and a power pod.

So I was going to make my exhaust setup out of foambard as I have done a couple of times before but I was never really happy with the final look of that so I decided to try something different using a piece of styrene and pieces of paper straw to do the job. I'm thinking it worked out pretty good , some black paint and its good to go.

Servos installed, rear bottom fuse plate installed, exhaust setup installed, tail feathers hinged and permanently installed. Putting the power pod together , going with the trusty 2212 2200Kv for this one with a 8x4.5 tri blade to be scale

No, appropriate size for that motor. This plane comes in around same size and weight as the older FT warbirds(Spitfire, Mustang, P-40) and I use 8x6 props on all of those and my FT Racers and they all work great, never had an issue or problem
