Hello all, and question

Hello from Alaska; mostly just signed up to ask a question I can't seem to find an answer to. The twin A-pack says it takes XT-30 connectors now, and it needs a corresponding Y-harness. However, these aren't available on the store (but the JST is for legacy reasons?).
My soldering skills are pretty bad, and where my soldering skills don't fail me, availability of thin enough wire fails me even harder. I've been googling for the last half an hour and haven't come up with anything, so I figured I'd ask you guys. Is there a place to get XT-30 Y-harnesses?

Hi Hippogriff welcome to the forum! You don't need an XT30 Y-harness. The XT30 connector connects the battery to the ESC and comes presoldered to the ESC. If the battery you get has an XT30 plug then you are ready to go. The Y-harness is for the servos. It has servo style connectors so you can connect two servos to a single receiver channel. The Y-harness also comes with the power pack.

The only time you would use an XT30 Y-harness is if you wanted to connect two batteries with XT30s in parallel, which you won't be doing.

Sorry, I keep forgetting to mention, I'm looking at the twin pack, so unless I want to twin-battery the plane, which would technically be an option, I suppose, then I will be needing the power splitter.

While not ideal and with the downside of adding weight, What if you bought an XT-60 y harness and adapters that go from XT-60 to Xt-30 to make the connections? You'd need three in order to do it but it would save you from soldering.

I'm strongly considering it if I can't find a premade y-harness. I'd rather do it with a single piece for the weight, but if I have to, it's totally on the table. I just find it weird that FT would move their power packs to require a part and then not sell that part.

Om I see your problem now. Yea it would be nice if FT included a splitter to power two ESCs off one battery. Maybe because they can't find a supplier themselves. Go with what TexMechs says or you could try some soldering. It will be a tough hobby if you don't trust your soldering skills.

If all else fails you can visit your local auto parts store and get some crimp type wire joiners as long as you have some leads with the connectors already fitted. This should only be considered as a temporary measure until the real harness becomes available.
