Hello from Germany

Hi all,

I want to say hello from Germany and thank you for this great Forum. After reading several threads I still have a simple question:

Is it possible to convert the FT foam board plans to balsa wood? After 1,5 years of flying experience I want to start building my own plane. I like the concept of the FT plans (powerpack, simple design,...) but I really like wood as a construction material, too.

Do you guys have any experience with converting the foam plans to balsa wood constructions?

Cheers, Bucardo

i don't see any reason why you couldn't do it, especially if you are already adept at balsa builds. try it, what's the worst that could happen?

i am currently building a high speed pylon racer that is going to have the entire rear tail done in balsa while the front is all FB and a 3D printed nose/motor mount.

why not?

good luck,

me
