Help! Carbon Cub S2 and others spiraling into the ground and crashing

I am by no means a new pilot but got a Carbon Cub S2 and before that a Maule M7 both of which I put on floats and both of which crashed in the same way. The first crash of the Maule M7 was that it spiraled into the ground very suddenly and I had the same crash happen twice with Carbon Cubs one of which was at fairly close range. Control is completely lost when this happens so I can't use the transmitter to recover no matter what I try this problem has been recurring on all new Spektrum receivers including the AR631 which I was using in the Maule M7. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? It is starting to get to the point where it is costing a fair bit of money for repairs.

What Transmitter are you using? did you set failsafe up when you bound the recievers? Have you done a range test?

Setting up failsafe is not an option, the flight controller is NOT user programmable (a fatal flaw on the part of Horizon Hobby) and in a range test the results were good but I found ANOTHER fatal flaw when doing some testing on the ground. There is a bug in the flight controller which causes erratic operation if it gets false or erroneous information from the barometric altimeter on the flight controller even if there is a GPS receiver. In full scale aviation this is a cardinal sin which has cost lives. Incidentally the range test went exceptionally well on both low and high power. With that rant I forgot to answer a question, I am using a Spektrum NX6 transmitter.

Knowing what transmitter you are using could be helpful with diagnosing the issues you're having.

Nope, I contacted Horizon Hobby and forward programming is not available for the A3230A flight controller or its matching receiver which is the only one it works with. It does not use the AR631 receiver and I know forward programming works for that one because I have done it before in an E-Flite Maule M7 (I really miss that airplane, it was excellent on floats) The Carbon Cub S2 + uses a special flight controller which is programmed at the factory and there is no way to unlock it at least that I have heard of.

You might try checking the antenna of the transmitter for internal damage. I had a similar problem a few years ago and it was because the antenna had worn through inside the plastic exterior of the transmitter.
