Help! Looking at a start in 3D quadcopters

The lonely RC guy
So, I have been flying rc for around 2 1/2 years now and I 3 planes (fourth is in construction) and I was watching Flite Test and MR. Steele. And I was immediately intrigued. My question was on banggood.com there is the Eachine Wizard 220 arf that I found via YouTube and it said 48CH, this scared me because I don't have much $$ to buy a new transmitter, I was wondering if it would work with my dx6i. If you guys have any other suggestions on any other 3D quadcopters please feel free to say.

Many Thanks, FLYMAN123

You realize that's not a 3d quad right?

Are you confused on terms or do you really want a multi that can sustain UPSIDE DOWN hover?

I am confused on terms if you could list some basic terminology that would help a lot. But no I don't want a mutirotor that will sustain upside down hover.

This is a 3d quad.

Note how [without interrupting flight] it reverses its motors mid-air allowing it to create negative thrust (thus hovering upside down).

You want a regular quad!

I hate to link to a different site, this place is so much more family / community oriented than RCgroups (which is the 34th largest forum of any language on the Internet so has a Way different feel) however their beginner sub-forum is a godsend. Especially the two stickies st the top!

The 48CH is most likely referring to the Video Transmitter channels, not the RC receiver. The Wizard doesn't come with an RC receiver so you'll have to add your own. Spektrum have a range of serial/satellite receivers, or if you want the cheap option grab a LemonRX CPPM.

Don't take this the wrong way but sounds like you need to do some more research before you make any decisions/purchases. Check out Joshua Bardwell and UAVFutures on Youtube.

Painless360 is also another great source for information on the hobby as well and has great instructional videos for many popular products and gear.
