Help my FS-T6 reciever isn't working

I cannot get my receiver to power on or to bind to my transmitter. I have a quadcopter in which everything else is working perfectly, but I cannot get my the receiver/transmitter to work. The transmitter itself is working fine. All ideas are welcome.

Are you plugging in the bind plug and powering up the receiver before powering the transmitter? Are you holding the bind button on the transmitter while you turn it on to put it in "bind" mode?

What receiver are you using? If it is a newer AFHDS 2a receiver it won't bind with the T6. The T6 needs the older AFHDS protocol receivers.
