Hello,
I decided I (hopefully) can paint my foam board builds via air brushing (complete beginner here) in the future instead of using rattle spray cans (cost is quite high for how little coverage I get from a single bottle & I hate the smell of the spray by now).
After some research I settled on an AS189 compressor and am now in the process of looking for the right paint. The most popular brands seem to be either Tamiya or Vallejo.
Which of these brands is better in your opinion? If Tamiya, do I go for the XF acrylic or the lacquer color series / if Vallejo which color series do I use (Model Air / Game Air / Metal Color / Premium etc)?
How much mileage can I expect from a singular bottle of either Tamiya (10 - 23mL) or Vallejo (18 - 32 mL)?
What else should I consider when airbrushing the model (how to prepare the foam board surface)?
