Help with FT pocket radio

I have a volantex ranger 600 pnp . I bought it to work up to my mighty mini explorer. I have the FT pocket radio that came with the explorer bundle. Can I bind the pocket to the ranger as it is not a pre programmed model or do I need another radio? I successfully bound the explorer to the pocket radio so I’m familiar with some of the functions.

the pocket should have sapce for hundreds of models, you should be bale to follow edgetx tutorials ono youtube and add a new model and configure it however need it. You definately dont need a new tx for every plane. The biggest issue is if the plane and the tx can bind at the same protocol. I dont knwo what receiver the ranger has so I cant say, and I dont remember what protocols the pocket supports, there are multiple versions. At most youll need to get a new receiver

sometimes the volantex come with it. but if you don't need or want it, you could just throw in a plain compatible rx

all volantex planes except their older 750 mm p51 us v761 protocol.

he needs the radio master 4n1 to run as an external radio module, the 4n1 contains almost every protocol in the market, slong with v761.

Ima new receiver is cheaper, and it's pnp, as we discussed before meaning that there is no point to use that protocol, it doesn't come with a receiver.

unless i missed something he did not say it did not have a receiver?

as far as i am aware, all volantex PNP come with a receiver.

by FT Pocket, we are talking Radiomaster CC2500? the radiomaster cc2500 has a plug in on the back for an External Radio Module, the Radiomaster 4n1 is $60, snd contains the 4 major protocols, along with almost every other one on the market.

so for $120, you can have an extremely capable radio that does bind with volantex.

*radiomaster cc2500 “pocket”
*back of cc2500 showing external module port
*2500 & 4n1

i own almost every volantex play ever built, there is only one on the market currently that is not V761, i also speak with Ex Hobby (volantex) weekly about their planes.

OP, you are almost there, dont get discouraged, shoot me a message, i can hop on the phone and talk you thru every step if need be. or even just make videos for you and email them too you.

this is all very easy stuff when provided the right info ✌🏻

Well that’s good to know, I wasn’t sure. I just assumed that PnP, as it normally means you supply your own Rx, Tx, and Batt, BNF means that it has a receiver. If it comes with a reciever, wonderful. You seem to know this much better,r Ill let you help the OP on this

yeah i think you are entirely correct on PNP for most if not all the “hobby grade” stuff, Volantex uses a circuit board, where receiver, gyro, are all one circuit board….so they all are built the same, PNP just doesnt get packed with the controller.

however, there may be a situation with a product i am not certain of, so until OP responds…we are all left in gut wrenching suspense 🤣
