Hey all! Just joined the forum. I’m pretty new to RC flight / FliteTest and looking forward to learning the ropes and seeing what everyone’s building!
I actually came across this site about a month ago while browsing Reddit. It caught my interest, so I decided to sign up, and here I am a week later!
Pretty new to FliteTest, but I'm really looking forward to learning the ropes and seeing what everyone’s building! See a top post for everyone new here to click in, and here I am posting my first ever post here.
A bit about my background: I’ve been making balsa and styrofoam glider kits since I was 8, and started designing my own around 11. Built my first RC plane at 12 using ice cream sticks covered in parchment paper, followed by styrofoam RC models soon after. Outside of RC, I also got into water rocketry and learned Arduino back in middle and high school specifically to understand control units!
Later on, I took electrical engineering and control classes specifically to understand RC flight systems, alongside self-studying aerospace, statics, machine engineering, and fluid dynamics. Fast-forward a decade of study to today: I use CAD/FEA/CFD/CAE/CAM tools for DFM and 3D-printed RC designs (with a side hobby in sugar rocketry as well!).
Really looking forward to learning the ropes here, seeing what everyone’s building, and diving into the FliteTest community!
