Good Evening All,
I always wanted a tray radio because I fly with the "pinch" technique. I've been eyeing up the Taranis X9E for a while, but I can't really shell out the cash. I also considered buying a tray for my Spektrum DX6i but those seemed cheap and flimsy. So I went into my garage gutted my DX6i and found a piece of 1/4 inch plexi glass, 1/4 inch ply wood, 1/2 inch x 2 inch pine beams, scrap wires, and an LED kit I forgot I owned and made this:
It's 16.5 x 11 inches and super comfortable for my flying style. I did have to purchase a UFi to RP-SMA female cable, a sweet covered switch for nos injection, and a 2.4ghz antenna (~20 bucks). I still need super long gimbal sticks to help me use all my fingers on the sticks but I can't seem to find any. Some folks at my flying field were talking some crap but it's cool... their planes look just as bad
