Unsure about high temp or low temp storage affecting battery life. 14 years on my Volt pack outside in Reno. Hot 100f, cold under 33. Not much degrading outside of the expected and anticipated losses, or at least they are so small I cant measure them. Have lost a mile or two range, maybe. Battery is much happier above 80f
a cold battery doesn't charge well. that's why i keep them in the basement in winter. summer, i'm less sure about, but you cannot compare car batteries which have sophisticated control systems to these cheap little lipo batteries.

Not sure if you were talking about lipos or Chevy Volts. My Volt lives outside in the winter in Wisconsin and does just fine. Range is reduced by a third when its very cold (<20f), but it charges and runs perfectly. I’ve never tried charging my lipos outside in the winter though. Maybe something to try in a few months.🙂

I know these are sensitive to cold too....Because the water in them will separate from the acid and the the water freezes thus breaking the lead plates.
First a good lead acid battery will never freeze, cold is way better then heat for a battery. You can buy lithium LifePO4 batteries for starting you're car.
They're starting to show up now: https://www.amazon.com/lithium-car-battery/s?k=lithium+car+battery
The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) vendors have been pushing Li-Ion as a replacement for Sealed Lead Acid batteries for a little while now. I think it won't be long before lead acid is phased out. I have to replace my car batteries every 3 years here in TX. The heat is hard on them. The UPS vendors warranty Li-Ion for 5 years compared to 3 years on the SLA batteries.
