Solved How do I get the battery voltage to show up on my Pocket ELRS (I'm using an ER6 with telemetry antenna)?

Does anyone know a good "how to" to show me how to get the battery telemetry (battery voltage) to show up on my Pocket ELRS transmitter. I am using the ER6 rx with telemetry antenna. I've found a couple of videos that have shown elements of this ("discover new" "Logical switch" "rssBat" and such, but I haven't been able to connect the dots and see the remaining battery voltage. I'd like to quit ruining batteries.

A picture of your RX would help so we know which version you have. Have you hooked up the battery monitoring wire?

Basically, while the radio link is active, you go to the model settings telemetry screen and "Discover new" the telemetry sensors that the RX is setting. Once you have those established. You can set up alerts or use a LUA script that monitors the telemetry and gives shout outs.

Here are some pictures that show my current settings. The battery connected is at 12 volts. The voltage indicated in the telemetry screen is a set voltage from the offset field or something like that. I don't think my ER6 is sending the voltage. I checked in the receiver and the "Force telemetry off on this receiver" is not selected. I'm sure I'm making this harder than it should be. Addendum: I just thought to test my ER5. It is sending the correct voltage. So It's something wrong with my ER6 set up. Hmm, that's progress.

Just bought a couple. I'm in the "learn how to take care of your batteries" learning curve at the present.
Read the instructions on the back of the cell checker, they show how to change when the beeper goes off. I fly down to about 3.0v per cell, the pack will recover to 3.5v per cell after 15 minutes of so.

Battery Care 101
After a charge, it's always good practice to give your batteries a rest before you fly. Likewise give them a rest after a flight before you charge them. The rest should be 15 minutes at minimum.

I just use a timer on my radio.
I do a combination of Flight Timer, Radio Telemetry, OSD (if FPV), plane feel, and plug-in beepers. Depends on the plane, battery pack, RX, and time to fly. If the plane starts feeling laggy or the motor isn't spinning up like it did at the start of the flight, I bring it in ASAP.

I have an ER5A V1 which doesn't have battery monitoring, It is in a RMRC Recruit (AR-Wing by another name) and I will probably use a beeper on it flying LOS.

If it's combat, Fly till it won't fly any more and expect to loose the battery. Just sayin'

Am I assuming wrong that I can plug in the telemetry antenna, "Discover New" sensor on my Pocket (it seems to find the battery telemetry on Sensor 11) and then see the current voltage appear in the Telemetry screen? What I see is in the picture below. But the battery I'm using has 12.1 volts at the time of the shot (Cell voltage 4.0).

There is no telemetry antenna to plug in. There is a battery monitor plug that needs to be wired to your battery to get voltage. Without that hooked up, you can see the RX voltage from the ESC/BEC but not the battery voltage.

The EXT-V connector red wire needs to be connected to the battery + terminal for voltage monitoring.
Ah, I see. I looked through loads of videos and no one ever spoke that essential piece of information. That seems like a pain in the butt. No wonder people look to other ways to deal with battery levels. With my timer set up and the battery checker alarms, I won't really need to do this, but my curiosity never leaves me alone. With what you told me I was able to do a better search and found this video that shows what you are talking about. For the record:

Update: I bought some four pin connectors (battery balance) and soldered one of the free ends to the red telemetry wire that came with my ER5 and ER6. I can now plug that four pin connector in to my battery balance connector and I see the battery voltage in the Telemetry screen in my transmitter. Having done all this I'm not sure it's worth the trouble. I'm going with the timer and battery checker alarm gizmo for now.
