I know this is not RC but came up with this a little while back and it can make you a hero in any kids eyes in a few min for a few pennies. Its the world record setting paper airplane by John Collins with a simple launching system I have come up with. I have a daughter that had problems throwing a paper airplane that can launch this one no problem...

Show me what you can do with yours once you make one! Let me know what tweaks you recommend. FYI I will be making a foam core flying wing version shortly so stay tuned
