looks good. congrats. after comparing the 1805 size emax to 2204s.. i wish i would of understood motor size better. i would of made sure to get a kit with the larger motors.. as there is no shortage.. you just have to know these little things up front which us noobs do not or at least i did not.. so yeah. the diff in size from 1806s to 2204 was much larger than it sounds when you compare the two.
im interested in how they have the LED hooked up.. i see they are just individual it looks like placed the pattern they wanted. i have found a device you plug into your throttle/rudder on your RX and when you give it gas it makes the lights go brighter, left.right change color... or a few other things. i may try one of them down the road. im assuming they used the same thing.

i went with a "thug custom elite" frame, it looks like it will be every bit as good as a blackout and for the price it better be as it was more expensive than the blackout after the stupid conversion to UK monies. heh.. and i wont run into one around here and if i break the 5mm arms.. i should just find a new hobby. i will start a thread for that build if anyone is interested.. im still gathering parts.

speaking of parachute chord. how many inches does it take to for a mini size quad? i bought several colors.. but i think they are only 15" long. im wondering if i shorted my self.. was basically 1.49 for 15" i did not think i needed 2 feet. but now im thinking maybe i should of ordered more.

A "thug custom elite" should have all the bling you can bling.

Bling baby bling. You're still gonna crash but you gonna crash in style! :)

lol, i did tone it down and went with all black instead of like neon green or pink :p.. and 5mm arms so im thinking flying tank.. if a cactus is the cause of my crash at least i can smile at the fact im taking some of that cactus with me. LOL..

The only bling I need for my vortex I already have... picked up some snazzy red anodized aluminum locknuts. Which probably won't fit the 1806s (depending on which set comes on mine - with or without the integrated prop adaptors).

They already fit nicely on the 2204s though :)

Has Anthony hand delivered your ESCs yet? :)

You asked if Anthony was going to hand deliver them? Well yes, yes he did.... :) image.jpg

Is the strap that is securing the Layerlens on your gopro also securing the camera to the mounting platform? Trying to figure out what I need to pick up.

Yes. There are plenty of holes in the camera plate to run straps. The Layerlens strap is pretty small, so it will come unhooked and eject your camera in a hard crash. I've also broken one of the straps completely. Some people like to hold their camera on with a bigger strap and just use the Layerlens strap to attach it to the camera.

My only concern here would be the Layerlens separating from the camera and then risk of damaging the gopro lens, but I don't yet have one to see how it all goes together...

i do like the design of the vortex.. i dunno why i like all the stuff hidden. i guess that is why i liked the spacer kit for the zmr.. i was able to put the PDB there and if i would of known what iw as doing i would of went and put the ESC there too.

do you think the vortex would be more durable with aluminum parts for example where you fold the carbon fiber arms in? i have no problem with plastic.. but i do wonder how well it will hold up over time with the wear of folding the arms in and out.

either way, i think the vortext is a greta looking quad. id like one.. maybe the immersion guy will come hand deliver me one. LOL

p.s

most motors use a 5m nut correct for the prop?
i need to order some nyloc for my props. since it appears after you get to 2204 sizes you need a wrench anyhow unlike the 1806 were you can just use the Allen wrench to put on new props.
hope everyone is able to get a couple of flights in today.

$399 USD ARF (Entry-level Motors), $449 USD ARF (Race Motors)

thats a fair price too.

so are these gonna be like cobras, hard to get. heh. this does give a guy time to save tho.. so maybe that is not a bad thing.

It has one velcro strap that doubles back on itself at the top and bottom. So in a hard crash, I often have the top come apart and the camera ejects. That means that the Layerlens is still attached to my quad and the GoPro is in the grass somewhere with no lens cover.
