Before I throw my hat into the ring, does a profile-style build fit into the contest rules, assuming it is based on an actual production plane?

The idea here is sport scale. It qualifies under the rules but I suspect it will not fair well in judging compared to other planes with round fuselages and real airfoils. Your call.

As far as I'm aware there are no actual prizes. Not to say winning doesn't mean anything, but winning doesn't mean anything. Personally I think that the more entries there are the more everybody wins from the contest. More entries = more inspiration = we all win.

Even though I don't have a lot of build time ahead of me, I'm joining the contest. The original thought was to build the "Eager Beaver" which is a balsa version of the Crack Beaver. It's not a true "profile" fuselage, but an "X" style that would be fast building.

As this is Willsonman's contest I'll play by his rules and the spirit of what he wants for the contest. My build thread will be on the Balsa Builders & Breakers section of the forum. Hopefully I can finish in time, but even if I don't it's a plane I have wanted to build for a while now.

Per the rules of the contest, my build thread is located HERE. The balsa plan-built Ryan Navion, built from control-line plans from the 1960's and converted for RC flight.
