I live in the west, and lets just say that Ohio is way too far, so, is there only one Flite Fest in the country?

I can grok the burn out. West coast isn't social like the east coast, and with everything spread out getting facilities is a major pain. Btdt, ex-benevolent idiot for Cali short wing piper club.

What about a Flite fest central?

I agree with @Mr Man, we should have a Flite Fest Midwest.
Somewhere in the center of the country. We have plenty of open space, even some locations with facilities; bathrooms, electricity, paved runways, permanent buildings and such. There are hundreds of possible locations in the Midwest.

Here are just a few examples

According to Wikipedia, Ohio is part of the Midwest.

I sure wouldn’t mind having one closer to Wisconsin. The nine hour drive hurts, but at least it’s drivable! If it were any further away, I wouldn't be able to make it.

The overall solution is to have a regional FF, as well as the one that FT, holds. For this to happen lots of people would have to step up to the plate as one seems to be all the guys from FT can reasonably plan and pull off alone.
I'm sure the guys from FT would provide a lot of resources to anyone who would want to do a regional.

the flite test assistance is the easy part and kinda like icing on a cake.

Hard part is finding a site NOT waay out in the boonies that people currently use then getting permission from whoever has control allowing such an event. Back in the day everyone was asking for proof of multi million dollar insurance policy in their name or on their behalf before they would even allow considerstion to permit the events. Back then just that binder was a months gross salary for me. The actual policy was a bit more expensive. Flite test will want insurance also. The people that control the land probably want a million dollar liability package on whoever shows up to fly, but that isn't your cost. Is your concern.

If you find a place that allowed such things, got permission in writing, have an insurance binder for coverage, you could now think about having the event and publishing dates and locations. Still looking at a couple-six months prior to the event so people can make plans and reservations. Hopefully it's a decent sized town with a dozen or so hotels and food places. Starting now, midway in Fall is a good date unless your weather goes bad then.

Not saying don't do it, just providing illustrations of how not easey peasey it turns out to be. If you do this, pull it off, even if it didn't work out, I would still be significantly impressed at the work you did.
