i built a mini-deamon a few weeks ago and it is quickly becoming my new favorite. so much so that i also ordered a micro-deamon to keep it company.
this was my first real balsa build and i made a few mistakes but nothing that could not be fixed. i messed up the front and put the air vent on the bottom not the top. duh....
at the end i can up almost 100g lighter than the 250g target. plane flies like it is on rails and is almost silent as it races by. according to ecalc it will do 82+ mph and by the looks of it they are pretty close. it is not my fastest plane but due to the size it sure is one of the funnest.
it is setup with an Emax 1806-2300kv (old a-pack motor) w/ a 5x5 prop, a 12A esc, 3 micro 3.7g servos, and a 3S-370 battery. because i messed up the nose my "power pod" was going to give oposite thrust angle so i decided to just design and 3D print one. gave it 3 degree down and 2 degree right and it works perfect.
still waiting on the motor and servos for the micro but as soon as i get them, it is next on the list.
laters,
me
