not sure who all will get an update here…

been running…and frying a lot of motors.

i have fried

2205 2500kv
2207 1900kv, 2250kv, 2500kv, 2750kv
2207.5 2450kv, 2750kv

I have run

5040
5045
5x4x3
5x4.5x3
5x50x3
5x60x3

waiting on
2807 1950kv
2808 1950kv

thus far 2207.5 2750kv on 3s and 4s thus far is the winner. 3s i can get up to a 6040 before frying motors, 4s 5x50x3.

i ran a 6x50x3 on 4s, 2207.5 2750kv and the motor was gonna in its first WOT pull, less than 10 secs. rsn it on a 2205 2500kv and it was gone in about 60 seconds. reckon a 6x50x3 needs to go on low kv motors only. but holy sh!t the planes were FAST….before they werent.

2207.5 2750kv is a lot of fun, 4s has to be doing 85 ish mph, i really hope i get a significant bump with the 2807 & 2808 motors, going to build motor mounts and pods from wood as to not have it twist.

once i get some good speed i will create a youtube and post some pics.

Diggin' the wings on the Charlie! Does it fly any different like that?
it does, it flies really good. its my favorite flyer currently from my foam board planes. it cuts thru the air like a knife, can hover or drop, i run a $20 byme db in both which is amazing if you have not tried. it cuts, rolls, climbs, loops, inverts, endless power on vertical. running 2207.5 2750kv w/ 5x50x, it really flies!

i originally purchased three aura 5 lite boards and two of the three were literally DOA, 100% un flyable, the one that “worked” has nearly zero elevator down ability, so now thinking there is actually an issue with all three i received. definitely will never spend $50 on one of those again ($150 down the drain along with the planes destroyed). flex innovations said “sounds like a know batch of bad aura boards” yet FT 100% refused refund. will definitely not be making another purchase with them.

all that being said, byme db is like 10,000 x better, affordable, functionality is non comparable, ease of use is non comparable. byme db is super natural and predictable in its movements, where comparing to the one aura i used…that thing was SKETCH.

i built this from scratch, not from a FT kit, so i change the bottom of the wing fold to more resemble say the alpha.

i am about to build another, but going to build the rear fuselage, motor mounts, and power pod from wood, so it can handle a 2808 motor.

will post here when done. hope is to hit around 125mph

Cool! The Charlie is the only one of the three Mesa RC designed FT planes that I haven't built yet. Not sure why I didn't. Other projects, probably.

man the charlie with wing extensions removed is a great flyer. i really…really….REALLY DISLIKE THE EXTENSIONS. if they are off by a few millimeters, whichever side is high is gonna pull hard, then immediately start pulling the joint apart allowing even more lift on that side.

this airframe in comparison to Alpha i like much more. the extra bit off wing on the trailing edge of Alpha creates more drag and more of a “float” feel to me, which makes everything slower. this mod makes it cut.

download the plans and knock one out.

man my phone is trippin and i can only get a few post to load 😑

you are the same guy talking to me about an arrow in this thread correct?

man, whats the motor, battery, prop, and weight?
850mah 4s, 2207.5 2750kv, 40a 2-6s esc (Although a 50a would be better, just no room). And I’m not 100% sure on weight, but I;m pretty sure it is close to what they say it should be.
