I've been putting LEDs on models for 2-3 years now. Kinda sucks we can't fly more than 30 minutes after sunset these days.
I'm going to post a tutorial video on how to do this in the videos section soon. I have a couple of kinks to work out.
This was shot using a 15 second shutter speed on a cheap digital camera. WS2812 LEDs controlled by a Parallax Propeller microcontroller.
