A delta is a triangular wing. I have one with a tail that is AET(yank and bank) one RET(rudder and elevator), and one with elevons, as most tailless deltas have. They can have any control scheme.

Yes, and they are all very nice. What's the bottom one, a Eurofighter Typhoon? How do you fly that and not know it's a delta 😆 guess you learn something new every day.Cool planes, not a single one that doesn't look like a great flyer. Are those all your own custom designs, or did you hunt around the net for plans you liked and scratch built them?

My Avro Vulcan prop slot and Arrowhead custom tailed delta. These are in prototyping stages, so there's some exposed wiring and slop, but they are very good birds as far as flying. The original green Arrowhead I posted had tip stall and roll issues from a short-coupled tail plane that probably had air flow issues like a compound shape. The new one has all that worked out and flies like a boss with loops and rolls and the sharpest turns you can imagine.

Super nice planes! I'm not sure the main wing of the F-16 could properly be called a delta, or if it would be considered a swept wing or trapezoidal shape. Somebody with more knowledge could possibly answer that, but what I can tell you is that the F-16 uses a leasing edge extension that is basically a highly swept slender delta in shape, and generates air flow patterns similar to a delta, so it's definitely worth posting here, thanks for sharing

But to be pedantic an F16 has a separate tail plane for pitch control. A true delta has to rely on surfaces attached to the wing (elevons) for that.
This leads to a question - was the Gloster Javelin a delta?

A Gloster Javelin is considered a "tailed delta", and it is a distinct category, but very underrepresented. My arrowhead is a tailed delta design as well, but does not use the T tail like the Javelin which gets shadowed on high AOA and causes issues. So the question would be, are tailed deltas considered true deltas, and if so, what separates a true tailed delta from just a swept wing fighter? Food for thought🤔

Vulcan prototype after cleaning up the front end and through-wiring servo cables. I know the colors are far from scale. Flies excellent, rock steady and rolls nice to either side. Requires high throttle for a loop,but loops are big and graceful rather than how some planes tend to do more of a flip.
