Let's Try This Again! 3D Printed EDF Jet Trainer

I was actually thinking of printing either the Firebird v2 or the Stormbird, just trying to decide which of these single motor wings would be the easiest to fly.
Are these your designs?
Not my designs. Stunt Double is the designer. Files on Thingiverse.

Oooohh.....I have 3mm......
That was a lot more common early in the days of 3D printing. I think Lulzbot still makes printers for 2.85mm filament, but most of them use 1.75mm these days. Your best bet is probably just buying some 1.75mm filament if you decide to 3D print something since rolls of filament also absorb moisture over time which makes them print worse and in extreme cases even weakens the plastic.

Oh, they are in sealed packages with moisture absorbers in them (y)

I flew a couple flights today with the old design with the further aft wing experimenting with far back on the wing I can push the CG (I'm going to reprint with the more forward wing regardless, so I wasn't too worried about crashing). To my surprise, the plane is still in one piece. I progressively pushed the CG back, but I never managed to get to the point where the plane would bite me. The further forward wing is definitely the right next step with this plane since with the more aft CG on the wing, this thing becomes significantly more agile. It can't really do anything it couldn't do when it was more nose-heavy, but it responds faster and feels better which let me push the envelope more confidently even in pretty bad wind.

Finally managed to actually get some ok flight video. I'm quite happy with how it flies now - it basically won't stall, even with full up elevator, and it floats quite well, especially for its weight, power off. With a more aft CG it's quite agile and even pushing the battery as far back as it can go, it won't really bite you. With the v4 fuselage, even with a 4s 2200 mAh pack, it's possible to CG it where I want, and it handles very nicely with both that and a 1550 mAh pack.
I'll be posting the files as a resource once I get the chance to write the assembly manual.
