Lockheed Vega - Golden Age Lockheed Vega Winnie Mae, Plans & 3D stls

This is a scale Lockheed Vega.
"C" power pack with 2200 3s battery
WS: 49.5" (1257mm)

AUW: 2lbs 11oz (1213g)

Beautiful! Looks too nice to be foamboard.

How did you paint/decal it?

You mentioned springs in the landing gear- does it work well? Can you share more details on that?

To smooth the seams I used light weight spackle to fill large depressions and then automotive glazing compound for a smooth surface. I've switched over from Rustoleum to Behr spray paint, they have more colors and it seems to coat better. The large single color markings are Oracal vinyl cut on a Cameo cutter and the small and multicolor are laser print clear decals.

The landing gear is 3D printed. Here's a pic off the plane and a cross section of the strut & spring. The small holes in the strut cap and the bottom of the plunger are sized so it pins with a short section of filament and the hinges are all 3Mx20 nylon screws so it can all be taken apart and repaired. It looks delicate but it held up to a less than good landing. :p
