If you've ever built plastic models, you can probably handle a well made balsa build. I wouldn't recommend the Hobbyking laser cut kits to anyone doing a first time build, but there are really well designed and easy to assemble kits. I would start with a freeflight kit, just to get a feel for how they go together and develop some basic techniques on a smaller scale. A full out large scale warbird build will surely be a pride crushing experience, not the fun time it should be. I know it's hard advice to take, but in this hobby, taking too large bites is a recipe for disaster and disappointment. Progress at your own pace and you'll be much happier and more importantly, you will have more fun!
