Looking for Ideas for 3D Printed Jets

Now that the sport jet is done, it's immediately on to the boundary layer ingesting flying wing which I originally planned to build first. The left wing is already printed View attachment 254343
This design will also be LW-PLA but with much lighter construction than the sport jet since it's got a similar wingspan but will only be powered by a 3s 50mm EDF
Don't you use Fusion360 for these? (I forget..)

Cool! (I will Beta build that!..If you want..) Man! I didn't know you could just build it as solid and add the infill in the slicer! 😆
Sounds like a cool plane, we definitely need more people out here 3D printing and coming out with cool designs
Here is how it looks so far... Still have to do internal fuselage stuff though.

Flew the ABS version of the sport jet today. I was worried the warping inherent to ABS might change the wing airfoil enough to cause problems, but it actually went 1 mph faster than the LW-PLA version, and this time without any wind to help it, hitting 105 mph.

I think the final change I want to make is to add some protectors for the aileron servos since I broke off one of the control horns belly landing.

They're the same size as the FT ones, just shorter, (they go in just like FT's too, so I don't have to stick to that design, I'll probably go with something with less drag)
What I've found, with my designs at least, is that the control horns and linkages contribute minimally to drag. I ran CFD of my 50mm super-duper sabre with and without and they only added a very small amount which would probably not even be measurable in terms of impact on top speed

Separating out the control horns also lets you use different levels of infill more easily. All of mine are separate and use a triangular cutout in the aileron
In the interceptor you just print it so the control horn is on the bed and set the bottom layers upto like 7 and you get a solid control horn but the infill can still be 4%
