Think of it this way.. The video I linked the other day was pulling 100+ amps at full throttle... so 25-30 Amps-ish per motor. I was NOT running full throttle for the whole flight and still sucked the majority of the battery down in about a minute. it is a 5" quad. I'll have to look at the motors and props on it. It was running on 6s so 2000+watts easily at full throttle. Amps x Volts = Watts.

Do you crave short flights, or would you rather have something that handles really well under most conditions?

Well, you don't have to run WOT the whole flight. The high amp esc makes sure you don't fry your esc when you have bigger motors.

If you want a nice "balanced" freestyle quad, something like these would be good if you wanted a 4S build with individual ESCs.

Well I am trying to cater to what people want nowadays. I can't afford HD as of right now but i think 6S is more popular.
It also has to look professional......

I fly what works for my style, Not what Joe, Larry, Darrel, or Xyz sez I should do.
I guess.....Just the big name companies out there obviously make money on these new big builds and they would make them if they didn't.
But on the other hand I might to have my own niche of more easy to fly and efficient quads.
