Master Series Builds, Past Present and Future.

I agree, i\f only @Brian B add plans.
The resource is posted, but no plans per-say. Basically I purchased 2 FT kits, and designed as I went. I often pre-design in CAD, and can post those, but not always. The photos and instructions should provide enough for anyone with master series experience. If you get stuck somewhere along the way, I'll be happy to measure and help you through. Flies great, a real floater with flaps deployed. But I'm not a good pilot, so it's "retired".

This is a typical design task example. With the increased span from the center section, which is an easy-to-make straight wing section with the same cord as the outer wings' root, you just don't want to use ALL of the original wings, unless you are making a glider. So this photo shows the cut down modification from the upper&lower kit-supplied wings. I would increase the elevator span if done again.

I'm so happy that FT is stocking the F-18 again. On my previous plane, after multiple flights the nacelles were getting smushed, so this time I sheathed them with thin balsa to stiffen them. Lets see if I can avoid flying this one into a tree.

Looks fantastic! Many would mistake that for a freewing pnp model. Nice!👍

Version #3. #2 (from post #1605 above) died on maiden when both rudders simultaneously detached during takeoff and she landed hard on a gravel road. Rather than rebuild, I just decided to start new (now that kits are readily available in the FT Store).

For this one, I had some fun with the air brush and using spare parts for lights and the afterburner kit. Because the lights are set so far back inside the black thrust tube, I attached some aluminum foil to the inside of the posterboard before rolling it around the EDF. It makes a huge difference in brightness. You scale aficionados probably notice a lot of inaccuracies, but I think it turned out pretty well. I can't wait to chuck it in the air and see how she flies!
