Master series style mini B-17

I have decided to change the name of this thread. I’m going to be building a lot of different planes (mostly warbirds) so If someone wants to work with me on the plans I would love to, but for now I’m going to just post pictures and tell you how to make your own motels.
I going to put the b-17 on hold for now, I want to get an airbrush to paint it.
I think I’m going to build a 262 next  View attachment 208149
All of my models will use the EZ pack and the same building techniques as my b-17.
I would love to work with you, especially learning how to do the master series style builds! I also use sketchup, btw.

I would love to help with plans. I am skilled in inkscape and can make you some quality plans.
Thanks that would be awesome(y) The way I made it was I had a old revell model I had built, I rapt tape around the model in different places and measured how far apart they were and then put them on some foam board and cut it out and then taped it to gather and then trimmed it then I peeled off the paper and I would glue it, but my hot glue gun died and I don’t have any white gg:rolleyes:

Thanks! I think sketchup might be better suited for master series style models. And I have been watching @whit Armstrongs videos on making them and the b-17 is a lot smaller and simpler then whits p-40 so it should be easy to make

The problem with using sketchup for designing master series planes is that it does not have a loft tool.

Yeah. I use fusion 360 for the design and inkscape for plans.

what is a loft tool? btw, sketchup has 3d modeling too, inckscape does not. but lets not get into the cad battle.

Fusion 360 is far better than sketchup for anything to do with planes. The loft tool is used to make skins from your formers. After that, you can unwrap the skins (as detailed in my latest video) and import them into inkscape or whatever you're using. In other words, use Fusion 360 to design the plane in 3D, then you can export the parts from that in 2D into Inkscape and make plans.

Have you ever tried using autocad?

I use curviloft. you can also unwrap skins, all in sketchup. btw, I dont have fusion360 sadly. it is way too complex for me
