maybe replacing my Airtronics radios

I have been thinking of replacing my 2.4 GHz Airtronics since I can no longer find receivers UNLESS there is some way to mod them to run Spektrum , orange or lemons. Baring that is there any reason not to buy the HK orange xmitter?

No bay RD 8000 and a 5G (also rd 6000 and infinity 6 ch which are 72 MHz)
