How are you able to predict the height without knowing the aircraft weight? I bought regular D rockets from Hobby Lobby and removed the ejection charge. I'm igniting it with a servo connected to a 3S battery. It's super basic but it should work fine.

I assumed you will get it into the air where thrust of motor is equal to weight of plane and firing off the rocket has a max weight of 14 oz (drag of airplane) will give it a max of 400 ft according to the charts.

By the way, I used only 1 cell of lipo (used the balance connector) and the gear servo to arm rocket.
Have a video of my Bell-X1 being launched statically.

Few photos of the Komet getting closer to completion. Hopefully it will maiden next weekend. DTF with a coat of minwax to help weather proof from the winter damp.

I think there's the Freewing Lippish P.15 which does more with the EDF version. I'm not really sure how an EDF version would work, to be honest.

CG is a good question, it's about an inch and a half past the leading edge of the wing, right under the spar. I'll go pack and edit the plans with that on there, thanks. Though I do usually end up flying a little nose heavy lol.

The guy makes great models to 3D print and it is not a hard build, I am doing one now, he has some great builds on IG @DirtyDeeRC
