Yeah I'm not sure if there is a way to make these work for the swappable series? I have only built the mini mustang and the reason it works well there is the top hatch design. I just wish I could come up with a better way than a rubber band to keep the hatch secured in place.
a small magnet should work...

For the improved look and performance I'd drop the swappable and make the wing removable and use that as a hatch...it would be easy. I've made 3spits that way.

Always liked the F-82. One point to make is that the F-82 was NOT based on the 'D' model (same as the K model) The F-82 was actually based on the P-51 "H" model. The H had vertical fins that were about 12 inches taller than the D and the fuselage aft of the cockpit was very different from the D. The 'H' had a longer fuselage.

TIP: Don't solder female connectors to your motor and assemble everything around it. It's so annoying to remove the motors. Very little access.o_O Instead solder male connectors like your supposed to.

Excellent flying! I'd say the only thing your routine needs is some flat spins! Did you ever end up adding a washer for down thrust?
no, i don´t want to remove the motors now, but i will add washers in the next build.
regarding the flatspins... when applying rudder, the thrust of the motors isn´t very strong...so i have to check again, how to program it correctly...

Finally got back out for the re-maiden! Cut the rates down 50% in the radio and it still rolls pretty well. deflections are around 10 mm now. I love the way it flies once it is trimmed in. Got to get back out when it warms up to put it through its paces.

Also here is a change that I would recommend from the plans move the elevator servo from inside the fuselage to the inner surface of the right fuselage. This will give you much more room for wires and batteries. Thanks @KalleFly for this modification. 1st picture is before and 2nd is after.

I love your design and currently build one for myself. Maybe it's just my slicer, but I noticed small gaps in some of your stl parts. Maybe you want to take a second look at them.

These gaps are intentional. The bottom for the part on the left and the right of the part on the right are to break away. This is just built in support material. Please share your build. And feel free to ask any other questions.
