Mini Arrow Speed build

Soooo...Dang. Woke up looked outside and it was beautiful! No wind, so I got ready to fly and try and break the record. So the previous 167 MPH run I had to give almost full right aileron to maintain level flight at that speed. I assumed that was due to the torque of the prop and airflow, no biggy right? Haha
Well I took off, all seemed good, I did a test lap and a few half throttle blips and it felt good, I lined it up for the first full throttle run and I went to WOT, it sped up fast! It started to dip down a little, a tried correcting and nothing...the servos had stalled😱. I had way to much speed and the ground was coming fast, as a last resort I gave it full throttle hoping it would torque to the side and hit at an angle. Well it went into a tree... then the ground😢. I lost about $95 of electronics. A motor, 2 batteries, ESC, GPS. The BEC and the Receiver and servos are still good🙂. Sooo the plan is to reorder the motor esc and batts. And highly upgrade the servos🙄 gonna be a week or two. But hey, it went dang fast for a bit😂😜

Glad to see you're not giving up on 180 and going to quads instead cause I think you got the skills to do it!!!! BTW, what GPS are you using...must be a tough one ;<)
Yep 180 build #2 happening soon. The gps I was using was the sky rc gsm 015. It kinda exploded on that last crash lol. I ordered a Meilan M3 to try, it’s cheaper and lighter and measures speed to the 1/10th. Im pretty dang excited about that. But super excited for quads too! I have flown freestyle foamies and won a few contests. DRL looks fun and competitive. But I’m really excited for FPV flying with the goggles, I might even put a camera on a 150 mph wing in the future😎

That looks like a fun challenge.

I would switch to the more expensive ball joint style control horns so you can get the pushrods in line with the air flow. You could also try switching to the other side of the servo so more of the linkage is buried in the wing.
