Mini Arrow Speed build

Hi y’all! I’ve been a RC pilot for 12 years and recently I have been blown away at how powerful quad motors and ESC’s have become. The current record for the fastest foam board plane is 175MPH. Sooo I decided to push the boundaries of the mini arrow...I hope you enjoy this build log as I go for 175MPH+

Dollar tree foam was used for frame, regular packing tape used for covering. control horns are old broken propellers. Motor mount is old scrap plywood.
Servos are cheap 12 gram generics.
ESC is a 50 amp BL heli 32

Maiden flight with 6 cell is delayed until my BEC shows up in the mail. Motor temperature after those back to back tests was barely warm to touch. I have onboard GPS that will be used to capture speed runs. Should Be one heck of a fast mini arrow😎

Today was a success in my books, the speed arrow hit 153 mph on the 4x4.5 prop that draws 30 amps. The speed arrow held together well and flew perfectly! No flutter at all.
AUW weight was 17.7 ounces with 2x1300mah 3 cells and a gps speedometer. Landed fast but easy. I pulled some full throttle loops and the wing has no damage from them. $98 in total parts for a 153Mph wing. Now how to go faster?🧐

Take those creases out of the top skin by removing the paper from the inside and rounding the upper part of the wing like they do in the master series. It will go faster.

And that is amazing!!!! I like wings hopefully I'll get there one day. Running the Versa with a smooth airfoil on 4s and it is definitely faster - makes me a little nervous still.

Thanks man! Now I got an excuse to build another lol. I hadn’t even thought of that modification yet, It makes since; smooth rounded shape vs the sharp edges and rough geometric shape.
