successful maiden! flies great, nice and slow.
The lack of dihedral helps a lot for inverted flying.
Honestly one of the easiest 4ch FT plane to fly.
Mine came in at around 436g (I think) with the battery.

Maidened the Mini Explorer with the sport wing today, wind down to 6-8 mph without much gusting. Using an 800 mah 2s and 1oz of nose weight. Flew pretty nose heavy. You'll see in the video that I moved the battery back some, didn't make a lot of difference. On my third flight (not on video) I went down to just 1/4oz and it was much happier, CoG now at the back edge of the bottom wing plate. Nice design and with the sport wing very aerobatic.

There's been one of these at the airport near me forever, the guy flies it once in a blue moon. Loudest civilian plane I've ever heard. I agree, the explorer would bash right into a Sea bee.
Cool! Any chance of getting pictures?

Very relaxing flight. Got lazy and ordered one from the FT store today. I noticed what looked like extra hardware besides the receiver. Are you using a gyro? Also, is there enough room to push the battery pretty far back? My smallest is 1000 3s and I would prefer to not add a new battery type/size to my inventory. Thanks.
