Very relaxing flight. Got lazy and ordered one from the FT store today. I noticed what looked like extra hardware besides the receiver. Are you using a gyro? Also, is there enough room to push the battery pretty far back? My smallest is 1000 3s and I would prefer to not add a new battery type/size to my inventory. Thanks.
I took some pics. What limits how far back the battery can go are the servos. With a 1300 3s and an 850 3s I was able to get a good CG so you should be fine with your 1000.

Since Flite Test is making the "old" "new", why not a mini OV-10 Bronco (one of my favorites)...?

Are you listening Flite Test?
You can go to Flite Deck > Show Suggestions and Viewer Requests and make a suggestion thread there if you want.

Maiden complete! It flies nice and easy. The self righting tendencies are among the best that I’ve seen. It takes off on the ground (with snow) pretty easily, even with just 2s.

The COG is a little too far forward, in my opinion. With it balanced right at the marked COG, it takes a lot of up elevator trim to fly straight, and when you reduce throttle the nose drops a lot. At low throttle, it porpoises. Moving the COG back about 1/4” made it behave much better. It glides very nicely without power and cruises straight and true at 1/4 throttle.

After a bunch of flights with maybe 10 landings, there’s barely a mark on the bottom of the fuselage. The bottom of the nose and fuselage and very nicely designed. It’s a nice tame flyer. Very good design!
Same characteristics on mine. When you say moving the cg back 1/4” is that with 2s or 3s? And are you using a 3s 1300?

successful maiden! flies great, nice and slow.
The lack of dihedral helps a lot for inverted flying.
Honestly one of the easiest 4ch FT plane to fly.
Mine came in at around 436g (I think) with the battery.
Cool! Today were mine,s first flights after a paint job. We didnt sand it though, so it looks a little beat up, but so are all my other planes so thats fine. Today was a little windy for me and i could really notice the purposing. I’m glad i found this thread, thanks everyone!

It would be with any battery. The COG is generally the same regardless of weight or power. I was flying it with a 3s 800mah. Moar lighter, moar bettar! 😄

Huh. Im using a 3s 1300 and furthest back is still nose heavy. I have a fix tho. It does feel heavier on a 1300, so it has a bit higher wing loading. MOAR LIGHTER IS MOAR BETTERER!!!!!!
