Mini master series corsair

Old and Bold RC PILOT
Sounds somewhat insane so it should do quite well.

As for adjusting the gaps I have a superb, (well for me anyway), to get the fold gaps exact and simply.
When cutting out the fuselage or similar piece I only mark and draw the fold lines themselves. The pieces to be removed to allow the fold to be accomplished I cut using a balsa stripper set to the width of the FB material, (thickness).

Not only do I get the external dimensions exact each and every time but marking and cutting out is far quicker! The method works whether scaling up or down and whether I am using 5mm FB or 3mm FB.

Works for me!

Have fun!

That is an awesome idea with the balsa stripper. I'm new to this so it will probably take 2-3 tries to get everything just right. But it should be a Lot of fun. Thinking a 32"-36" wingspan. I love the ft corsair but I have a tiny 80s Isuzu pickup. Its a tight fit in the cab with me and has suffered haha.

So I finally got the plans reworked to 75%. I should end up with a 34.5" wingspan, which is exactly what I wanted. I have the plans cut out, folds and slots resized appropriately, and taped to foamboard ready to start cutting. I'm working on Niez fw190 at the same time, hoping to finish both together in a couple of weeks. I cannot wait to see how this 34" Master Series Corsair turns out. Hopefully I'm the first one to do this? Pictures once assembly starts

I went out and got the balsa stripper, and I am so glad you told me about it. Thank you! It keeps the build time down which keeps my girlfriend happy also

So I finally got the corsair cut out and everything halfway laid out, its gonna be a 34" wingspan master series corsair. I had staples resize to ~75%. I started this a while ago, and also have been working on Niez13 fw190, and a 10$ Wal-Mart glider turned FPV/RC. I have taken up every horizontal surface in the house with other projects also. Since I started this before I worked on the FW190,I'm going to finish this then work on the 190. It takes me a while to build anything since I work about 65hrs a week as a heavy equipment operator. Enough blabbering, here's a look at how amazing this thing is going to be. I preform all the pieces ahead of time the just slap it all together.

Made some good headway on the 34" master series corsair. A lot more trimming and reconfiguring in the fuselage than I thought. But the fuse is done, working on the wings and power system tomorrow. Night stop by the LHS and grab a 1700kv 2212 and run it with a 7"x5" prop. Anybody have any ideas for this project? Its been a blast and I'm very excited about, doesn't seem to bring too much interest though, lol.

I love how your project is coming along I also like to scale down models. Watching and enjoy sharing your joy about the build :).

Decided on a 2306 2600kv with a 6x45 prop. Its so LIGHT! I used gorilla glue sparingly, even added a little fuselage support between the nose and canopy. All I have for test flights is either 2200mah or 1000mah 3 and 4 cell. I think a 1500mah would fit perfectly so I'm gonna have to order those. Here's some
more progress. We'll see how she flies midweek!

Looking amazing :).

Yes I am going to paint it, haven't decided how though. I think I'm gonna go more of a racer scheme. I had to put a scoop on top to cool the esc. It was the only place I could and still be ok to look at. I'm hoping it has a little speed. Its not too heavy, about 410 grams with a 1000 4cell. I really appreciate all of you following this!
