Yep gonna start painting mine
Have fun! We found it best to try to do it all at once. For some reason if you paint half of the fuselage and then the other half, it is extremely easy to see where the line starts and stops.

Here’s another small update: started to work A little on the wing. Started with the star and bars and a few rivets as well as some panel lines.

Here’s another small update: we’ve decided to make this plane able to drop some bombs! I designed this scale bomb rack as well as a scale 500lb bomb. They are both currently undergoing filling, priming, and paint. I can upload both stl files on thingiverse if you guys would like to try your own hand at printing them.

@ZOHIO that pretty darn cool man how does the drop work?
So there will be a servo mounted on the underside of the bomb rack, as well as a hook on the opposite side. A rubber band will be used to wrap around the hook and over to the servo arm holding the bomb in place. The bomb also has a little “key” on its side in order to index onto the bomb rack. I will take some additional pictures in a bit in order to hopefully clarify this.

Thanks buddy would love to see how the servo is connected on the drop mech too :)
The bomb rack was designed to fit most standard sub micro servos. Once the two halves were glued together the servo was placed in the slot and then two pilot holes were drilled. The servos are held in place by their factory mounting screws.

I think you should one way or the other :).
Alrighty, the plane is officially done for the time being (minus some minor details such as rivets on the tail)! We want to get some flights on it in its current state and recgonize if we need to fix some things here and there. For those who are interested, here are the two links for the Thingiverse files for the Bomb/Bomb Racks: Bomb: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4500856/files Bomb Racks: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4500905 . If someone does not have the ability to print these and would like the parts printed and sent to them please message me and we will try to work something out! The system utilizes some pretty lightweight rubberbands in order to hold the bombs onto the rack (we are attempting to find some black ones). We have also decided to make these fully removable, utilizing some small magnets that were glued into the wing and Bomb rack, the entire rack is easily removed.
