This is the last flight of the new module with the old flight controller.
The old flight controller will keep on flying on the first module which will be modified.
The new module is modified to work with a multiwii flight controller.
You can check my blog “mono-monophan technology with multiwii” for the first pics.

Mono-Phan Technology With Multiwii

The new module with multiwii flight controller.
The landing gear was modified to handle the weight better.
The setup was changed to make it suitable with the multiwii.
No flights so far, except a couple of hover tests. Waiting for a new ubec for better power feed to the board.
The controller has mag, baro, autolevel, headfree, etc…
Hoping to test it soon after finding the right calibration…

Impressive stuff, good effort!

I never fail to be amazed at the skill on display in these forums, I wish I had half the talent....

What is the hoped outcome? Will there be bodywork, I guess once stable and controllable enough it would make a decent camera platform

The project started to test a new idea: 3D thrust control module for ducted fans. It actually proved to be a very competent flyer with the original flight controller. However, I decided to adapt a more versatile flight controller for possible future additions like GPS and gimbal capability, also features like til angle control, etc... It already has a micro gimbal and camera on it as it is. I didn't decide on a body work yet and I am open to ides:) Thanks.

Very nice - really impressed.

How do you stop the motor torque reaction from spinning the main body ?
Didn't see any side thrusters or 'tail rotor'

CrossWing module maiden test with Multiwii & 5S setup
- New carbon frame and setup,
- New 5S batteries
- Newly adapted Multiwii controller
After playing with PID a little bit this machine turned into a beauty. The video have several landings and takeoffs, to make sure the new 80A ESC is not overheating. It held pretty well, after frying the 60A on LLRV module last week.
Mag worked without any problems. I was comfortable enough to take a couple of small spins around the park towards the end of the test. Considering the flight time that I got with multiple takeoffs, the new setup with 5S batteries will probably provide over 5 minutes flight time in an uninterrupted flight.
Pretty happy with the results…

Mono-Phan Technology With Multiwii - Amazing new 64mm module

Amazing new 64mm module's first flight video!

4s setup with multiwii turned out to be a real beauty.

Extremely stable and quick with about 5 minutes hover time!!!

At the the 3 minute mark you will see some wobbling in the close up flight video, which was corrected with PID settings (see the rest of the video)...

I will post some amazing flight videos of this beauty soon...
