More Regulation...DIGITAL FLIGHT AUTHORIZATION

I didn't see a voice for hobbyists in that hearing, just a lot of testimony from people who will benefit from a system like this being mandated. I'm not shocked the guys who sell the countermeasures think they are needed!

Hopefully the CBOs can fight this and/or get it amended, because the system they were describing does not sound like it has carve-outs for us. I get what they are trying to do but even more of a burden for the average pilot is not helpful.

Also, since I was confused looking for it, here's HR.3334 that Rep. Crane mentioned in the video, which is apparently distinct from the STOP CCP HR.3334 from the 118th Congress

This is how the eventual RID started. No hobbyist voice. Only industry "leaders" with $$$$$$ in mind.
Don't forget CBOs and their FRIAs are a bit of a government invention. They'll need to "argue" carefully. I don't expect the FAA to feed the dog that bites.
I expect more discussion/explanation in the very near future from FPVFC, FTCA and AMA. Not to mention the most viewed FPV YouTube channels and hobbyists concerned with DFA.
It's just getting started.
