Dont see a lot a love for the Master Series F-16 on the forum...anybody else have one? The build has been straightforward so far.

Didn't Ben Harbor have one for use here?

Yep! They are different plans and look completely different. I'm curious how they fly will differently. Ben's F-16 uses a 4S system while FT uses a 6S setup- should be interesting!

I have 6s in mine (Ben’s version). It gets up and goes! One of the easiest launching EDFs I’ve ever tried. You just barely need to throw it forward. It doesn’t even dip.

A few shots before painting. The build was fairly straightforward and not too tricky for anyone who has a few MS builds under their belts.

She's gorgeous. There's something about the graceful lines of an Overstreet-designed FT Master Series airplane, and this one doesn't disappoint. Lots of fairings. She even has the drooping nose. I added EDF lights, a balsa reinforcement of the air scoop, and some 3D printed details. Now to wait for a warm spell for painting.

It's a fair point- these big MS kits are often not much cheaper than their pre-built, store-bought foamy cousins. I try to keep costs down by recycling all of the electronics from plane to plane. Plus, I almost like the building part as much as flying them.

All done! Time for the obligatory glamour shots showing off the paint job before it gets all beat up. I cheated and used a canopy for a Freewing F-16, as well as some 3D printed stuff (pilot, cheater vents on bottom, Sidewinders, etc.). Maiden should be soon!

Amazing as always @CrshNBrn !!

I tried a digital camo on a MiG-29 a few years ago and it was very painful, this looks like a much better system.

How are you doing the canopies like that? I assume it's vaccuum forming but are you buying the molds somewhere or do you have a walk through of how you're doing it?

Thanks!

Thanks, Zephr1!

I wish I could take credit for the painting system- I used the techniques from that Youtube video i posted earlier in the thread. As for the canopies, I've been cheating lately and ordering them from MotionRC from planes that are roughly the same size & scale as the foamboard version.
