Multi-rotor for aerial photography/filming

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a Multi-rotor that would be wall suited for aerial photography/filming.
I am wanting to get one quite soon, so I don't think I can design and scratch build my own.
I'm planing on using a GoPro to film and maybe FPV gear to help me see what it sees.

Something that has caught my eye is this quad made my Hobby-Lobby:

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I just checked out some of his reviews and they are nice, but they are out of my price range :(
I would like to find a multi under $550 (cheeper the better) as an ARF or a complete build.

Thanks

But remember it's usually more dependent on the pilot than the platform to get nice footage :)

True - you can get amazing shots with a cheap set-up. It has more to do with your skills as a pilot.
I prefer MultiWii as it is a cheap platform that is very flexible.

If you have a big wallet you can buy a way into the sport - if not DIY is the way to go.

Hey everyone, sorry I have not replyed back sooner. I did check out that hexcopter and it is nice. One thing I notice though is that when filmming with a GoPro there is part of the frame in the shot, and if I can I would like to avoid that.

I do understand that you can get amazing shots with a cheap set-up, but with myself wanting to buy a compleat kit the price is a bit up there.

after doing some more resurch and finding some extra cash, I have found these multi's

I would like to get one that is stable yet manuverable, auto stability, GPS would be nice but not needed, Camera gimbal, and really smooth.

If there is one that I missed please tell me about it.

Your opinions are really helping me out so please keep them coming.:)

Thanks for your help so far.

That is really stable. What I'm looking for is one that is stable in the wind. I know that not everyday is windless and I wont be able to wait for the wind to die on some projects.

I was reading your thread and saw that you have the QAV500 on your list of frames, which I think (obviously, since I designed the frame) is a good choice. The frame has the ability to fly with 3 cameras at the same time (one forward GoPro, one downward GoPro, and one standard def flight cam)

Here is a video shot without a gimbal, in 1080p, without vibrations and with a Naza FC.

Let me know if this is the kind of thing you're looking to do.

Yes, the QAV500 is a vary nice frame that has caught my eye. I have been wanting a multi rotor that has a gimbal for the camera, but I guess I could just tilt the camera down to get the right angle. How is the maneuverability of the craft? I know in the winter I will be filming skiers in the terrain park and I will need a craft that can keep up with them.

Thanks

I have seen this QAV500 in person and it is a quality frame. I haven't had the chance to fly it yet ;)

For what you plan on doing, Naza might be your best bet.
