I haven't really seen anything in terms of mods to the plane. This was the video from my FT-22 maiden:
It did not respond well that first day, and I later discovered that one of the elevons was delaminating. After I taped both elevons down it's been a great, slow and easy flyer.
I used my own design for a 3D printed motor mount as well as a modified 3D printed servo horns on mine.
